House Dumping
This house content dumping thing has been pretty smooth so far. As usual, I drop off Sienna and get my Starbucks to get the day started. As usual, I spend a lot of time online. I realize it makes a world of difference when you can let go of things you processes. I have this attitude of detachment towards my belongings, quite uncharacteristically if you consider my fiercely intense nature.
I remember when I finished my first 6 years of higher education. I left the campus with one large suit case and one carry-on. I still had one hand free to hold my ever-green plant. I figured books I could get in the library. So I dumped the books. Things I could buy in the store. So I dumped things.
I maintain a relatively small wardrobe anyways. If I don't wear something for one season, it will have been dumped already. So this time, I asked a friend to come and gave her the whole wardrobe. I said "Do me a favor. You might like only one item. Dump the rest for me."
I just have to take my time out from my busy online life. Tomorrow is recycling pickup day, another wake up call for me. I would go into the stuff. Three piles in front of me: 1)things to let go, 2)things to put in storage and 3)things to take with us. It was like lightening speed. Why did it take so long for me to get to it?!
