Live to Eat


I meant to treat our two aunts with some Beijing specialties. Somebody referred us to a restaurant that is specialized in serving Peking ducks. As it turned out, it excels in making the most exquisite Chinese cuisines. One of the dishes that cost CND$160 was some kind of live fish from the depth of the ocean. The fish’s soup was so completely out of this world. Another dish was merely two pieces of smoked mushroom with real smoke coming out of a tiny glass on the side for decorative purpose. Chinese food! To live for! To die for! Holly smoke!
