Gaining Benefits From Multigrains
I have long said “Goodbye” to plain rice and white bread. Compared to hardship of going through all kinds of diet programs in the world, I don’t consider this a huge price to pay to remain in my 5’4” and more or less 105lb frame forever and ever.
Coming back to live in China helped me rediscover all other grains that are supposed to be full of nutrients and fibers without much glucose. I have constant storage of brown rice, red rice, black rice, barley, oats and millet. I also have a collection of what seem to be everything from the bean family. And there are other plants like lotus seeds, dates, lilies and saffron. Everyday, I mix some of them according to their texture and color and cook them into porridge. I am not sure though about its weight gain potential. So I don’t indulge in them myself. I totally enjoy cooking them while the husband, who never needs to shed an ounce of weight enjoys his daily intake. Sienna is learning to love them.
