a model Montessori student?!
i sent along my writing about how sienna's becoming my mama to a friend of ours. ronnie herself is a montessori teacher in another city. here is what i said, "the stories might sound nice. but in fact, i have a little doubt, only a little. should a kid at her age (3.5 as of now) be so aware of her environments? i mean, be worried so much. should i watch out for any sign of compulsive behaviours?"
and here is what she says word to word: " I love your stories about Sienna! She is really a model Montessori student! I would love to have her in one of my classes!! I wouldn't worry at all about compulsive behaviour. She is doing exactly what she should be doing. She is what every teacher dreams of.
Her school obviously encourages the children to take care of their environment. That is a big responsibility that the children take very seriously. I see that she is really aware of the order and routines of her environment. That is one of the most important parts of a young child's life. Being able to control her environment is a huge success for her. You should be very proud. In a world full of inconsistancies she is just thrilled that her little life is so full of routine and order that she is always able to expect what is coming next. Encourage her in her independance... you will be forever grateful as she grows!
Congratulations on such a wonderful little girl!"
