Sienna's Album
What a world of different did one night make? It was a brilliant brilliant day today, despite the continued freeze (-12c as highest). I made sure every room got a change of air with open windows. To ensure the maximum sun exposure, I also had one side of the front door open for a couple of hours. There was only a sheer layer of glass between us and the south-facing snow-covered front lawn.
This was the kind of day that motivated me to do the house cleaning. And I did just that. There are about 11 French doors in our house. Each has about 15 pieces of glasses. Do the math, Sienna, when you could read this. Some particular pieces needed to be cleaned, once for all. All these occurred at the height where a toddler like Sienna could touch and kiss with her greasy little hands and mouth. She was not bad at all. And now she is clearly growing out of it. The signs? She points to me when she spots a spot on the wall or the kitchen shutter.
While I was getting into my French door business, Sienna happened to find something of her own to be busy with. And it was not TreeHouse channel on TV! We got our digital camera over 4 years ago at a price that could buy at least 4 with the same quality today. Although, Sienna's life has been well documented digitally, we don't have many print photos of her. We do have a pile of prints from digital format and from some occasional use of a regular camera. At this right point of time, Sienna discovered this pile of joys today. Just goes to show how insyn we are. I gave her a set of brand new album. She started to picked photos and inserted them into an album.
There was one where she was in her "birthday suit" lying on the couch smiling. She smiled at it, "No, I don't want this one. This one is too funny." She also picked one with Mom and Dad. "Where is Sienna? I taking picture for you?"... She was very excited about the album and named a few names that she was going to show it to.
When it was all done, she started flipping the album and pretended reading from it, "Once upon a time, there was a little baby. That baby was me..." She took the album with her when we went out grocery shopping. And the reading from the album got better in the car, "Everyday has a morning, Everyday has a night. The sun comes up. The Moon goes down. The Moon want to visit a circus. Clown said, 'No'..."
And in the evening, we again had a full house with 3 kids at the age of 6 and under. Sienna was showing her album to everybody. 2-year-old Catherine was not so interested. Howard gave it a brief look. He was banned from a game Sienna wanted to play, "This is a game for girls only!"
