Conference 3 - Curb the Perfectionism
I really don't have much to worry. But isn't it a mother's job to worry? So what about her perfectionist tendency? "Oh, she got that from me," smiled the teacher. How to curb it so that it doesn't go to an extreme? Once in a while, make some mistakes deliberately to show her it's ok to make mistakes. Move furniture around, for example. That's how the teacher suggests.
This clumsy mother though is an expert in making mistakes. No deliberate effort needed there. Instead of "Dad has a van", I go, "Bad has a van." Instead of "The pig is big," I go "The big is a pig." "Do the wrong way," she would request. I am the bad reader all the way, she is the one who corrected me all along. She loves it and laughs so hard. Sometimes would I replace her name with a character's name in the book. This is her favourite kind of game.
