Sweet Girls Don't Fancy Candies
Supermodel Cindy Crawford knows a thing or two about eating healthy and staying fit. One thing she said recently is that she doesn't just eat French fries off her kids' plate. Wait a minute. She feeds her kids eat French fries? Or did she eat French when she was a kid?
This is something I don't quite understand. When we know already what's good for us and what's not, why do we still eat junk food until we have to make a big resolution to go on a diet? If you have a habit of eating junk food growing up, then why do you give this habit to your kids when they don't have a choice to pick a better habit?
I want to talk particularly the sugar-laden food, candies, ice-cream, cake and pop, etc... The same should apply to all kinds of junk foods. There have been enormous studies showing that we, normal and healthy human beings, don't need extra sugar from these delicious things in life. Extra sugar does harm to our body. And too much consumption can make other food less desirable. The worst of all, a kid can become dependant on sugar because it's addictive. Still, people give out candies most generously and handily.
I believe, quite contrary to Cindy Crawford's idea, kids should eat healthy more than the adults. We cannot feed them forever. While we can, we can at least give them certain TASTE BUTT. Whatever they eat becomes their habit to eat. It will be very difficult o change in the future. Growing up, I used to eat seafood, so much seafood. It stays with me. Whenever I go, I get to anything fishy. Luckily, I didn't consume much sugar. I enjoy a nice scope of ice cream and a piece of cake. They have to be really good quality. Otherwise I don't have the craving for them.
Now you must know why I am called "Sugar Nazi" by 9-year-old Rachel. And you must know what kind of "bitter" treatment my daughter has been getting when it comes to candies and anything sweet. I think I am doing a great favour for Sienna. Ok, she has much less freedom than other kids at her age, in terms of her access to sweets. They are only are something she can enjoy from time to time, but definitely not her daily necessities. Sienna won't be able to finish a lollipop. That's because she certainly doesn't have a sweet taste butt. When I look at how she enjoys her food on the table, I said to myself, "she has my taste butt."
