Space and Time
After the street festival, we continued our day by going to the playground to meet Olivia's family. Then we went to Rachel's house to have dinner with her mother. Rachel and her dad are already in China. At one point of time, we had to drive up to somebody else's house to fetch something. While we were having dinner, I brought up a very important astrological point that I seem to have discovered right at that point of time. Both Dad and Y, Rachel's mom, agreed with me.
People with a lot of fire elements in their natal chart are expansive in space. They love travelling from one place to another, experiencing different things and meeting different people. They don't look back much. They embrass the future. They need changes and mobility to live well.
People with a lot of water elements in their natal chart are extensive in time. They are retrospective. They take their past experience with them. They need consistency and constancy to live well.
Usually if parents and kids are blessed with similar elements, it makes parenting much easier to carry out. I recently observed parenting challenges in two families around me. In my opinion, both are due to a certain degree of "imcompatibility" in their elements. A Virgo Sun/Pisces Moon kid just wants to stay at home. His parents try to get him out in space doing all sorts of sporty things in an attempt to make him more positive and more assertive. Another all-water boy (Pisces Sun / Cancer Moon) has devoted his all his time playing in a team sport yet he is still considered a problem kid by his mother...
My heart goes out especially to these water boys. They are sensitive and exceptionally talented. But they need alot more emotional reassurance and security in order to feel confident. They don't need a lot of space to roam. They need a lot of time to themselves to ponder, to nurture. Of course they need to get in touch with the world and people. But it has to be done in a more considerate way than just throwing them out.
I always told Rachel's mom that if I had to raise Rachel, I would raise her exactly the same way as she does. But I would have to make a huge effort to do nearly as well as her. My water temparement is most definitely in odd with her fiery and free spirit. I would have to curb my protective machnism so that I can give her enough freedom and space that she needs. I am happy to be Rache's friend with the help of astrology.
As far as our family is concerned, I don't need to go all the way out to understand them because I do understand them naturally. All we need is the time, everything will fall into place. Astrologically, it's such a blessing.
