Endure or Enjoy
Our cat Max enjoys his time.
The preschool is closed till January 9th. We decided to leave Sienna with the daycare center near my office. She loves the ridding on the green/white-commuter-train-with-Mommy part. But she hates the staying-with-strangers-for-the-whole-day part. Well, that's part of the reason we are taking you there, baby. The same thing as I try to get her into the crowd once in a while, she needs to learn how to cope with whatever the fate throws her in. As I dropped her off and turned around the corner of the glass wall, I saw her crawl right over to a group of kids at the far end of the room. I was relieved. And she seemed happy when I picked her up. In fact, she told me she had fun.
This morning though, she threw a fit and refused to come with me. In my style, I gave out an ultimatum, "Look, you can come nicely with Mommy. Or I will take you there my way." Then she asked if she could take her one-eared dolly Wawa with her. "Sure. But your regular preschool..." I tried to scope the limit of my compromise.
One of the best qualities in Sienna is what is best in me to give. You don’t have to like everything that comes to you in life. But if this is what you must do, then try to make the best out of it. Simply enduring is not enough. There must be a way to enjoy whatever you have including how to make enduring easier to go through.
That's how I see it. And so much for Mommy's BS today…
