A Scary Story
We are dealing with nightmares here. The girl woke up last night and said she had bad dreams. She held my hands and won't let me go.
So I took her to our bed again with a legitimate excuse as she got booboo yesterday on her chin. I am not planning to encourage the jumping bed behavior. Daddy is more sympathetic. He said he had difficulty falling asleep due to nightmares when he was 8 years and at a boarding school.
What I don't understand is while she is having nightmares from the Little Match Girl story and other Halloween related tales, she wanted me to tell her scary stories at bed time. And this was the skeleton of the scary story I made up last night.
It was Halloween night. A little girl's parents were out. She decided to stay in the house and give out candies. A beautiful girl came in blue dress. It was Cinderella. Then in row, came in Snow White, Sleeping Beauty... Some sort of non scary characters... Then a real scary ghosts came at the door. The ghost tries to hug the girl. The girl is so scared. Then the ghost took off the customes -- it turned out to be her own Mommy...
Daddy heard the story retold today and asked, "are you sure that was the Mommy, but not the Daddy!"
