Super Bowls Before the Super Bowl

Today, the three families made plan to have Chinese food together. Since there was the Super Bowl to watch in the evening, we sat down at a restaurant just over 5pm. While we were going through the menu, we found a series of dishes actually called "Super Bowl of ...". These items are always there. What are the odds that we came to a place having some "super bowls" for supper on a super bowl night!!!

Abby sometimes "complains" that we don't get together enough for food. A Jewish princess like her sees a lot of things eye to eye with me, a former commie. I think food must be what keeps a distance, if any, between us. I admit I am reluctant to share food with her, which is considered my only religion, by the way. From my perspective, the so-called cultural difference is mainly a food one. If people can get together and share food, that will path ways for all kinds of differences.

It doesn't mean we don't make an effort. Tonight, for example, 10 people ended up ordering 5 super bowls of soup -- usually one for a table. Then we had a full table of dishes to suit everybody's different tastes. Afterwards, we all came back to our house to see Lui's new painting and switched to Abby's house for a glance of the Super Bowl shows.
