Can Life Be Too Good?
Yes, at leaslt that's how I see Sienna's life. Around her birthday, she has been showered with so much affection and so many presents. Apart from the real digital camera, she received 6 dresses and 5 sweaters in white, pink, blue (2), and purple. There is a Gap gift certificate card worth at least another 4 dresses. Games, make-up kits, books and dolls...
By nature, Sienna is a focused kid. When she was small, I used to give her toys, one at a time. Now it's impossible to have that kind of control any more. I am afraid that she would take things for granted. Everyday I come home, she asks if I have surprise present for her. If I do have something for her, there would be a moment of joy and surprise. She is onto yet another. That's definitely a sign of her life being too good.
In order for her life to be better in the future, her life shouldn't be too good now. The idea is a bit twisted. Yet, it makes sense. I am striving to find a balance here.
