A Very Good Friday

We had so much fun flying kite today at the school yard. First I was trying and trying, running while holding the string and letting it go bit by bit. It went up for about 10 meters and came down… I thought that was all we could ask for a kite to do. We decided to go home and I led the way. Just when I turned around, I saw Lui and Siennan were left far behind down the slope. I couldn't see the kite… then I saw it was flying so so high up in the sky. A kite never went up to that high right from my hand. It still didn't. Lui and Sienna set it off just when I left their side.

The whole roll of the string was gone, about 70 meters, I woud say. I took over the end of the string. Immediately I felt the strenghth of the flying nite at the other end and started playing with it. Lui commented that my motion of pulling back and forth was very "provocative" in a certain way. "Unbearable" as he was, he went with Sienna to the swing set. It felt like the kite was willing to stay as long as I wanted to. But I didn't want to stand alone in the middle of the lawn pulling back and forth. Paula was on her way to come. I called to rush them so that they didn't miss the kite. They made it in time. It turned chilly a bit. They came home with us. Sienna and Thea disppeared somewhere into the house. I made them dumplings. Paula ate fish and beans with us. Paula and I had fun putting together a design that will open up our kitchen and make a huge space for the house.

Earlier of the day, we had dim sum lunch with a couple and their kid. It was so very nice of them to invite us. The guy is a technician and a composer in one. His wife gradutaed from the same university like me. Afterwards, we went to a coffee shop to continue our chat. Their kid, a 9-year-old boy, and ours were allowed to have all the desert they wanted.

Such was our day on a Good Friday.
