Fish Saved the Day

It looks like spring. Supposedly we are springing into the summer. Yet we’ve never turned off the heating from the winter, in order to feel like the spring. It was windy too. We ventured out to fly the kite. It went right up because the strong wind. Then it got knocked down by the wind. The rain followed... We stayed in for the whole afternoon after a brief Korean supermarket trip.

The highlight of the day was a captured pickerel that weighted at least 3 pounds. Amy’s dad caught it on his fishing trip last night. They are so kind to deliver it to us. I made a feast out of the fatty creature. To go with the amazingly fresh fish, I cooked some special cakes that were made of meshed salty fish and ground pork. They went so well together. It was an amazing dinner we had together with Rachel’s family

On another note, I got a bulgogi package (Korean grill with thinly sliced and marinated beef) and a new Korean grill stove. Eager to test out my new kitchen gear, I used it to make beef sandwich for lunch. Daddy and I both had a few slices. Sienna ate the rest of the meat! On the package, it reads 1.5lb! I don’t know how they calculate the weight. She also had two baby cucumbers to complete her lunch deal. Such a delight to see your baby eat and state this is her favorite and that is her favorite.
