Pleasure Delayed Is Enhanced

Sienna immediately unwrapped a Ferrero Roche ball I gave her. Yet she wrapped it up back on. She decided, "I want to save for the later."

She is known for saving her favorite things for her enjoyment later. "I will eat it at the car." "I am going to open it when I get home." As far as I know, kids at this age are not good at thinking for the future. They usually enjoy what's here and now.

I am no expert in Freudian' theories. From what I learnt by reading his "Beyond the Pleasure Principle" one summer, grown ups, through discipline and repression, come to realize that you cannot always enjoy what you have right away . As a way to control your destiny, you have to sometimes delay the pleasure. The pleasure delayed is usually enhanced as well. It's interesting to observe how Sienna seems to have had the rest of her life arranged so early on.
