House of Music
I cannot express how happy I am that things are working out just the way I expected in the piano playing front. I recorded the teacher's playing in the last lesson, Sienna played along with the headphones on. She wanted to be perfect and would restart even if she missed one note. At the end of yesterday's practice, she said to me, "Mommy, you are right, I am very good, I am very very good!"
She carried out a tune that appeared to be a complete piece of song, music and lyrics combined. She repeated the same thing quite a number of times. It could be that she heard it from somewhere. She said not. Then it was her own creation. It was a beautiful one as my standard of a good piece of music is it's familiarity upon first hearing. I though it was a book when Daddy was playing it. We took the notes down recorded how it was played out on the piano. The words went like this,
Flowers are red, flowers are yellow,
Flowers are blue and white.
They cover the trees,
They cover the ground,
They cover the whole wild world.
After this one, Daddy continued to play on the piano to record another song that he said was inspired by Sienna's playing and his own composition. I don't need to be sure if Sienna has that in her to become a composer or something. To me, all these elements in her environment will sure make her music experience more enjoyable and the hard work less enduring. I even made up my own music blank sheet to try to get her write notes for the songs she knows, hoping the reverse route can make her learning easier. Now the composing part is really neat.

Sienna is a talented girl. Kevin quit it after a few months. He hated to practice even for 10 minutes. However, we didn't push him, either.

hi, mini, thank you for dropping by. It was not smooth sailing with Sienna in the beginning. i tried many different way to arouse her interest without making her feel pushed. I am still trying.
