It Takes Time
Before bed, Sienna won't shut up when she was supposed to.
Mommy: Sienna, you shut up and go to bed, right now.
Sienna: Mommy, shut-up is not a nice word.
Mommy: What should I say to get you shut up?
Sienna: Be quiet!
...
She was in bed but still not quiet.
Sienna (called out loud from her room): Mommy, please come and give me a hug.
Mommy (had to go in): We already hugged. You are going for a field trip tomorrow...
Sienna: I know, I know... It's going to be a busy day.
Mommy: But you are still up...
Sienna: Hey, Mommy, you have to smile when you give somebody a hug.
It takes time for her to fall asleep. What else takes time? Teaching takes time. And I am so fortunate because I can still take time to learn.
Mommy: Sienna, you shut up and go to bed, right now.
