Food of Fusion

Lunch time. J and I settled down at a refreshingly-decorated restaurant that somebody recommended. I realized immediately it was vegetarian. "Are you bringing a meat eater here?" I said. That was like when my friend A picked "Riding with the Devil" for me to go with her after examining the whole film festival's program. I was like, "knowing me, you picked a war movie?" I ended up liking this Ang Lee's work so very much.

I ordered a salad called "Green Destiny." It has a hint from Asia and middle Asia. In a big black bowl, I spotted a sight of baby spinach, green bean sprout, green onion, avocado, almond nuts and two pieces of grilled Tofu. The salad, not surprisingly, turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. It was appropriately complimented by the two things I asked for in case I need them to compensate my meat/fish lacking meal: a small bowl of grated cheddar cheese and a glass of merlot.

I looked at a pair of green chopsticks and a set of folk and knife lying side by side on the table, thinking Toronto is the city leading the trend of fusion food. It takes an open mind and good appetite to enjoy the life to it's fullest.
