S.A.H.W.

My unemployment became the best thing that has happened to our family so far this year. Things are quite the same with Sienna. But it didn’t take long for me to look back and realize how much both of us, especially Lui, endured over the past few years. I was just going to work like billions of others. Only I had much less stress because I didn’t have the “school bus duty.” The husband on the other hand did it all dutifully. He insisted that Sienna needs to have hot breakfast. He cooked it for her and the lunch for himself and the dinner for the family. And yet he came up with those incredible works of art that need the most concentration and devotion...
It’s all in the past because now I am a SAHM (an internet term, short for staying at home mom). If you think about it, I am not a typical SAHM. Sienna is school for the whole day and the husband works from home. That makes me a SAHW (W stands for wife). Mostly though, the husband is spaced out physically and mentally in his studio. I would be somewhere else in the house as if he is not around. This morning though, I was going to drop off some paintings. He decided to come with me because he needed to get some art supplies. We spent about 30 minutes at the shop. He gathered what he wanted at the counter. The shop assistant started to run the cashier machine, I was getting ready to pay, he went off to check for the stuff around the store. When it was about set, he came back to the counter with a bunch of other things. I said to the guy, “My husband is at a candy store.” The guy was patient, “oh, he has another 6 hours.” We ended it up getting 4 bills for the trip, at this store alone. This will somehow give you an idea as who I am dealing with as a SAHW. Afterwards, I dragged him to get his leather jacket and got the tailor there to do the alternation. The L size is too fat. The M size is too short. So the tailor will take in one size on an L size. We had some lunch and came home.

I rushed out again because Yiga was at store getting household items and I wanted to meet her there. I got the rice that I didn’t end up getting yesterday. I also got Sienna an iPod dock that can charge and transfer the sound through speakers as well, it plays CD. I had one hour to kill before I went to pick up Sienna. I drove in a plaza’s parking lot near her school and started my nap. It was so good. I wake up dreaming that some school kids knocking at my window. At night, Sienna and I danced and danced to the new machine.
