When It Rains, It Pours
No rain in this part of the world. But this is just an apt way to describe a few troubles Sienna found herself in righ now.
The broken arms brought her inconvenience which she doesn't notice much. The chicken pox she has might be a mild form. She complains only she had to go pee. She does scratch. But when she does, I put Calamine on the spots, and she started giggling as if it was some kind of game. I used Benadryl once last night just in case.
On top of everything else though, she developed ear infection, the most serious of all these. We had to bring her in to see the doctor for that. We didn't want to make her deaf due to our neglegence. The nurse kept us in a separate room for waiting, considering all the things happening all at the same time with her. The doctor comfirme that she indeed has chicken pox. And ear infection could have been triggered by it. She has to be put on anti-biatics, second time in her life.
The thing she suffered the most so far though was the time when Dad was away to run to a hardware store across the street while we were waiting for the doctor. She thought he was going to park the car. I was too honest to tell her the truth too fast. She started crying and whining for straight 15 minutes until he came back to us.
We didn't take her out in other public places. It was nice that Rosie's parents invited us over for dinner as Rosie had chicken last year when she was 11 last year. For a number of hours Sienna stayed there, she sat on the couch without moving an inch. She watched several Disney Classics, complaining her ear and didn't eat anything except an ice cream. I don't remember she ever skipped a meal like that in her entire life.
What a terrible way to start her summer! But I have to keep my spirit up and block away the negitivity... Part of the thing is we never had to deal with all these troubles when she was a younger.
