The Kitchen Aid
Not the famous manufacturer of cookware. I am talking in praise of my daughter again. Sienna has been helping out in the kitchen since the beginnig of time - it seems to me. She is best at taking apart the dumpling or egg roll wrappers that are stacked and stuck together. She has patience to carry the whole thing through when we make 50 dumpling or 100 egg rolls.
She is particularly Daddy's little helper. Everyday, when Daddy makes her hot breakfast, he sits her on the kitchen counter. She would crack the eggs, cut the veggies or spread the butter on the bread. I, on the other hand, don't have enough patience to help her helping me. I leave her on the side to entertain herself while I rush to get the work done around the counter.
Last night, she came up to me, saying that Daddy let her help. Note she didn't plead that she wanted to help me. For the first time, I let her rinse the dishes on one sink while I washed them on the other. Water was all over her shirt. She loved it. A little girl like her already started doing house work. Should I feel blessed or be blamed?
