Thursday 13 - Back to School Wish List
In the mail box I found a calendar for Spring/Summer 2006 courses at the community college. I browsed through the 108-page book and marked out the courses I would love to take if I have the time. I told myself to be modest – number 13 is the limit. Here is the list, not in the order of preference.
1) Interior Decorating For Beginners
I am very certain about what I want in my house. Getting some general guidelines won't hurt.
2) Personal Taxation
For the 3 consecutive years, I have been doing income tax by myself. Would love to learn how the system works so that I can work in and around it.
3) Family Financial Planning
I have a pretty good relationship with money, not too stingy, not overly lavish. I don't believe one can get rich by plannign well. Some knowledge might help to get things more organized.
4) Introduction to Early Childhood Education
I probably would not like the norms this kind of course promotes. It can provide me with some materials to criticise. Oh, I sound so cocky.
5) Macromedia Flash Basics
I have designers working around me. It’s not their job to teach me.
6) Writting for Business
I am always asked to write business related letters. I can do better.
7) Feng Shui
I hired a Mr Feng Shui a couple of months ago. We paid him $300 for him look around the house for about an hour. I am curious about the princeples he based on. Maybe I can turn that into my career.
8) Real Property Assessment
We loved our experiences of house hunting for ourselves and friends. We are very good at guessing the property value according to it’s location and other factors. I am eager to know more - with no interest in becoming a real estate agent.
9) Astronomy for Beginners
The whole metaphysical astrology is based on physical astronomy. Being an armature astrologer, I must take this beginners' course one day. When I look up the sky, it will make more sense to me.
10) Cooking With Seafood
This is so tempting. It will teach me how to debone fish and the correct cleaning and shucking techniques. The husband's reaction was, "go, go for it."
11) Introductory Voice Training for Film and Theatre
This will help my singing lesson.
12) Lawn Care and Maintenance Workshop
I am not into flower planting or landscaping. I like the way our yards are laid out. I treasure the green the most, the lawn, the wall of shrubs and tress. I need more knowledge so that I can better order my services with the companies.
13) Edible Wild Plants Identification
This would totally take me back to my teenage year. I did so much on several filed trips and camps.
