A Very Happy Day Indeed

Sienna has been in such a great mood turning into a fine 5-year-old. So are we watching her grow. Usually when you are happy, you don't have much to say. A friend of mine sent me a note that helps to say it well, "look at how little Sienna basks and grows in your tender, fantastic love. Look around, Min....you have every reason to feel on top of the world..." That's exactly how we feel.

We had a list of over 30 people to invite. Only half of them turned out. Even Sienna's beloved sister Rachel is away on her trip to Disneyland. That's just the March break situation we will have to face every year around Sienna's birthday. From whoever came or didn't come, there are so much affection and a whole lot of presents showered on her. If anything, I am only afraid of spoiling her, even on her birthday. I had to make a couple of points along the way. First, we rejected the idea of having the balloons. They are so difficult to get rid of. How can we have a party without balloons? Yes, we can. Instead, I got her a princess piƱata. Second, people who come to the party need to be treated for their helping us celebrate the big day...

That to me means great food. I got the best I could find and afford in the market -the prime cut Canadian beef steak, the Korean sashimi, the Italian Ruffino Red, Pakistani chicken biryani, Maxican guacamole dip... plus our home-made Chinese shrimp egg-roll. It was a trully an international feast.
