Story of a Servant

Last week I told the story about how H took on his diseased life partner's business in art. A day or two later, H wrote to all of us informing his partner's dog passed away as well, also from cancer like his Daddy. The dog had kept H company for the past few months at his partner's absence. Now eventually, he eventually decided to join his Daddy in heaven. For H, this is like experiencing the tremendous loss all over again...

I didn't know what would be the best way to comfort H. Unsure if it was the right thing to say, somehow I blurted out in my email to him: The amazing story of this dog should be written into a modern version of "Servant of Two Masters." H sent me a note yesterday, still in the depth of his sadness. According to him, "Servant of Two Masters" happens to be one of the plays that his partner often referred to with him when he was alive for various personal reasons. "Another coincidence uniting all of us", said H. I was left speechless. Just wish I could bear the pain for him.
