Talk of Astrology: Sienna's Social Dilemma
... ...
Sienna: Mommy, Olivia always wants me to listen to her. She never listens to me.
Me: Did you talk to her about this? Maybe sometimes she can listen to you when you are right.
Sienna: I talked to her. No use.
Me: You two should have your own friends.
Sienna: Olivia has her friends.
Me: You should have your own friends too.
Sienna: If I have friends, Olivia won't let me join the team.
... ...
I was having this conversation with my typically shy Pisces daughter. Her Moon in Capricorn doesn't help her to be socially casual while her Venus in Aries prompts her wanting to be part of the happy crowd. Olivia is an Aries sun/Taurus moon native and every bit of it. Sienna is her friend by habit. Olivia is comfortable with her because Sienna has the flexibility and sensitivity an adult has and yet she is a child of her age. Olivia doesn't though rely on this relationship as much as Sienna does on her. Sienna, on the other hand, sees Olivia as the extension of her family and her emotional life-guard in the world she is "forced" to face. Olivia is courageous, positive and straightforward... She was born with all the confidence and will learn to lose some along the way. Sienna was born to gather the confidence she is only confident to have.
Knowing all the astrological dynamics in the relationship between these two little persons, I am still feeling quite heavy inside for Sienna somehow. Not just because she is my daughter. Somehow, I was just like her growing up, sticking to one pal and ignoring the rest. I somehow grew out of that. It was quite a long process that I would rather not to see her go through. I thought it was easier for me because I appeared to be a lot more assertive by appearance.
I spoke to my friends about it. This is what I get 1) she is a very sensitive kid for her age. She is already see the cause and effect so well. It's a sign of intelligence. On the flip side, it shows that she is hard to let go of things. 2) she needs venues to mingle herself with other kids so that she can find possibilities of bonding elsewhere. Maybe I can do something about it without making her feel being interfered. I am going to invite other kids to come to the house so that Sienna can play with them on an one-on-one basis.
