Corn Counting

Last night, I was watching how Sienna eats her corns. Instead of biting on the thing, she takes a kernel, puts it in her mouth, one at a time, and moves her way down, one line at a time till the transformation completed... When she is done, the whole corn looks like a neat piece of craft.

We talk about how the parents should learn to effectively and consistently teach and discipline our kids. The most important and often negelcted part of the skill is to be a good observer. What's good or what's wrong is always relative and situational. I looked at Sienna thinking: I could so easily turn this kid into someone with serious compulsive behaviour traits or clean freak. Being orderly is not necessarily a good thing to teach Sienna. And being considerate is not either. She already had them. When you are a keen observer, you can find the balance and bring our the best in a child.
