Out of the Shell, Into the Shower

In my conversation with Ms Ahmed, I mentioned that it was particularly important for Sienna to have a teacher with standard pronunciation. “She was a later talker to begin with and still doesn't waste a word when she doesn't have to...” Ms Ahmed said, “she has come out of her shell this year...” She is right.

Sure she is out of her shell. And not only that, Sienna is getting into showers herself. That is a huge leap forward. Even since her infancy, I used a hand-held shower on her. That didn't help chasing away her fear of water. She hated when the water got on her face. Washing her hair was always a problem. Then we started going to the pool... Two nights ago, she volunteered to have the shower coming down from top of her head. Shower has become something she looks forward to. I am so very proud of her. In the new routine, I stand by the tub with my back straight and arms folded. I watch her and laugh with her... Such a break! Such a breeze!
