Not Enough Could be More Than Enough
I was on the air again last night talking about how the stars can affect how the parents raise their children. Then this morning, two mothers set out bringing each of our child for an one-night getaway at the Niagara Falls area. We are staying in a hotel room one floor up from where Marilyn Monroe stayed 55 years ago when she was on location there. We went to
play in the waterpark, the main purpose of the trip, we fed the two kids Chinese food and put them to bed...
We talked a lot about kids, inevitably. When you have one child, s/he is the center of the universe to you. It's so easy that you would end up overdoing your job as a parent. It's hard to tell other parents what they are doing is in the right dosage or not. Conversations like this always give me opportunities to examine my own behavior. "Kids grow up regardless..." usually I hear myself saying this to myself and others who never think they would do enough for their kids. More often than not, we do more than enough. That could be as problematic as not doing enough.
