Like a Sister for Real

“May I speak to R?”
“He is off for the day. Are you his sister?”
“Yeah, how did you know?”
“I never forget a face or a voice.”
“That’s amazing!”
“You live on S Avenue and came for the TV the other day?”
“No...I am the REAL sister.”
“Well, you are his other sister then. I am his cousin...”

My brother and I are the least look-alike siblings in the world. R, a Korean descendent, however, looks nearly identical to my brother. Even my mother, my brother, R's daughter and everybody else are amused by the resemblance. They are of the same age, less than three months apart. They have very similar personality traits. On top of that, R has the same last name like my mother’s maiden last name. Not an unusual practice in China where my brother could have taken my mother’s last name. R is also the “God Father” of m daughter... Therefore, I am a much more REAL sister to R. Not like other woman who claimed to be the sister so that she could get family discount on her TV purchased at the shop where Brother R is the manager.
