Pact Of Pants

Sienna and I have reached a pact. She agreed to wear pants, pants only to go to school during the week days. This is great news people! Consider where we are coming from. Ever since she turned 3 years old, she would have worn her dress 24/7 if she had her way. Not that she didn't like wearing dresses before 3, only that I never let her, considering the inconvenience at the playground. Once I started letting her, dress or pants became the question of the day every day.

Last week, her friend Olivia had a fall. Speaking of the safety, I said to Sienna, "When you are at the school, you have to run around at the gym and climb up and down the slide. I am so afraid that your dress will get caught somewhere and you fall. Let's wear pants only during the week days. You can wear dresses over the weekend." Surprisingly, she nodded. How come I forgot to address the dress issue in light of the safety for all these times? Look, she is so totally sensible! Or it's just a phase that she had to go through. I cannot believe that we could be over with this issue so easily.

How cute is it to see a little girl like her wear jeans and a colourful top! You carry yourself largely by how you dress yourself. Wearing a dress puts Sienna in a "princess" mood. She is not mobile already. A dress makes her even more inactive physically... Let's see how this pact of pants will affect her...

It's been a week now without a pants/dress discussion. And she has been wearing pants for the whole week. As the saying goes, "he is the man of his words," this goes to say Sienna is really a girl of her words.
