Friend's Visit Is A Treat
Sienna and I took the green train home around 6 o'clock. Two groups of guests were on their way to visit us.
First Paula and Thea. They had wanted to come for over a month. When they finally made the time to come, it was today's dinner time. So we had dinner together -- we quickly put together veggies and shrimps and tofu etc. They brought over club sanwishes and desert. Thea and Sienna played putting a concert and taking turn to be the dancer and piano player.
As their car pulled out of the drive way, B, our dentist, and his wife pulled in their car. After a brief greeting with them, I rushed Sienna to get ready for bed. While having her hair washed, Sienna again fussed over water getting in her eyes and ear... "Sienna, look, this guys is the dentist for mommy and daddy. You have a different dentist." I tried to get her attention away from her little suffering and I did. "Is he my dentist when I grow up?" she asked. "Yes." I confirmed. "I want to dress up and go see him," she quickly finished the rest of her bath routine. But when she looked out her window, the dentist's car is gone, "oh, I missed him..."
I literally sweated in the air-conditioned house getting everything ready -- well, under the pressure of the early rise the next morning. Still a friend's visit is like treat we cannot easily resist. So consider we had two treats tonight on top of the popsicles, ice creams and newly discovered Korean melons.
