A Work & Play Day
I went back to work already yesterday. Sienna was sent to a 3-day winter camp at her school. In fact, I don’t mind working over the Christmas season between the holidays. You come in late and take off early without feeling guilty. With the office located at the shopping center of the universe, you are so motivated to shop because people you see are all loaded with bags. It feels like everything is for free. So I decided to continue my pre-Christmas shopping activities into the new year. Today I also spent at least 30 minutes at the Genius Bar of the Apple Store sorting out the connection between my iBook and a LCD monitor. Then about 10 of us colleagues went for lunch at a Thai/Chinese fusion type of restaurant called Spring Rolls. I had an excellent pick for a mongo chicken salad to go with a shrimp soup.
Coming home in the evening on the subway, a mommy offered me a seat next to her. Her daughter, looking like Sienna’s age apparently prefer to stand. I usually live on a 6.5 hour sleep. A more or less 15 minute’s power nap on the way home gives me a big boost. This little girl with a big smile woke me up at least 5 times one way or the other... Still I love the way this day has turned out to be. It became part of my little stories to exchange with Daddy and my little girl over the dinner table.
