Sienna's First Mail

A letter from Paris! Yesterday, Sienna was so excited to see her name as the recipient on a big white envelope. My friend Suzanne, an American writer living in Paris, sent a French Barba DVD and music CD of kids' songs to Sienna as presents. It's so very nice of her indeed. I "rejected" her again and again really to avoid the trouble of her having to send them. Once we have them. It has been an interesting experience.

Sienna loaded the CD, flipped around different tracks on the remote control on her boom-box and quickly determined which ones were her favourites and which ones she could actually sing them. I knew she has an hour of French session every day. I didn't know she could in fact speak a sentence or two. Hearing my own daughter speaking a language that I don't understand is not a completely pleasant experience, I must admit. But it's magical!

Sienna only saw letters being written and sent in kid's program. I was wondering how I was going to explain to her about mail as a thing of the past. Now here came the her first mail. Handy for the "show and tell."
